HS-Micro_FrontColumbia City, IN - Ultra USSI announced today the release of the its newest Hyperspike Acoustic Hailing Device (AHD) product, the Hyperspike HS-Micro.  The HS-Micro is the smallest AHD in Ultra's impressive line of patented focused acoustic projectors.  Weighing in at just under 20 lbs (9.1kg), and with a form factor of just  11" x 12" x 13", the HS-Micro provides the first truly handheld solution that can achieve 138 dB at 1 meter with crystal clear voice.  Production of the HS-Micro will begin in the 2nd QTR of this year. The HS-Micro is ideal for first responders or quick reaction applications. Its lightweight, AC-DC power system, and compact size makes integration into existing smaller land, water, and airborne vehicles straight forward and simple.

 

The HS-Micro provides a Force Multiplier by enabling one small craft to reach out significantly further (500+ meters) than a bull horn (nominal range of 50 meters).  This in turn offers increased presence with fewer crew and less fuel consumption.

 

From a performance standpoint, the HS-Micro spans the human voice spectrum very well from 250 Hz to 12 kHz.  With its high STI intelligibility rating (0.91 out of 1.0) and narrow 30 degree beam, the HS-Micro delivers very clear authoritative messages to the intended area.  At 138 dB, its warning tone is effective,  yet safe for the operator to use without hearing protection.
