Ultra Electronics Announces the HyperSpike® HS-10 Portable Acoustic Hailing Device

12 September 2017

Ultra Electronics USSI is pleased to announce the HyperSpike® HS-10 portable acoustic hailing device with superior voice intelligibility. With its unique HyperSpike® technology, the cost-effective HS-10 delivers long-range commands and piercing alert tones making it ideal for law enforcement personnel, first responders, campus security, and any application requiring a reliable and portable long-range communication device.

The HS-10 easily penetrates high background noise environments with a Speech Transmission Index (STI) rating that exceeds 0.85 out of 1.0, far surpassing traditional megaphones, bullhorns and commercial speakers in both acoustic output and voice clarity. The HyperSpike® smartphone app allows full control of the record and play microphone and the pre-recorded tones and messages from a safe distance. The unit can also be mounted on top of a vehicle and be fully operated from inside the cabin.

Patrick Allison, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for USSI commented:

“We are very excited to offer an affordable portable acoustic hailing device with unsurpassed intelligibility. The HyperSpike® HS-10 allows users from multiple organizations to communicate critical messages effectively and increase safety and security during uncertain or challenging situations.”

The HyperSpike® HS-10 is available in two models: the HS-10(C)ommercial and the HS-10(R)ugged. The HS-10(R)ugged offers extended communication range and higher acoustic volume output for applications that require increased performance at longer distances. Key features of both models include lightweight design of 15 lbs., peak acoustic output of 144 dB and a communication range of up to 750+m. Both units also have integrated record then play functionality, live voice microphone, built in alert tone button and an internal rechargeable battery. Color options include black, gray, red, white and custom color treatments.
