Ultra Electronics USSI Announces the Release of the HS-14 RAHD™ with updated Command and Control Software

31 October 2016

COLUMBIA CITY, INDIANA - Ultra Electronics USSI announces today the release of the improved lightweight, low cost, modular Remote Acoustic Hailing Device (RAHD); the HS-14 RAHD™. Along with the release of the new HS-14 RAHD™, Ultra Electronics USSI has developed state-of-the-art command and control software that allows the end-user full operation of a RAHD through any laptop or portable-mobile platform with a web browser.

The new HyperSpike® Command and Control software is a device hosted web interface; allowing a user to simply plug the HS-14 RAHD™ into a network connection and be up and running in seconds. The Command and Control web interface gives an operator the capability to have full control of one or multiple RAHDs on a single network.  The operator can quickly and easily program the HS-14 RAHD™ to perform automated tours of a facility.  Audio tracks, alert tones, and live voice messages can all be played and stored on the RAHD Command and Control software. The HS-14 RAHD™ can be quickly integrated with a high intensity light, video camera, or laser dazzler. The integrator or installer mounts the needed accessory upon the unit, reboots the RAHD, and refreshes their web browser, and the accessory is immediately recognized.

“The new RAHD architecture will be a great addition to the security tool sets that we provide the integration marketplace. These new features allow the security-force protection end user better control of one or multiple RAHD’s on a single network, and simplifies the controls to do so. Along with additional capability, USSI is providing this solution to the market with a modular architecture at an affordable price tag.”

said Tim Barnes, Global Reseller Manager for Hyperspike®.

The HyperSpike® HS-14 RAHD™ total weight is a mere 83 lbs. (37.64 kg), allowing an operator to quickly install the device at any desired location(s). Operators of the HS-14 RAHD™ have the capability to send highly intelligible voice communication and alert tones to an intended target up to 1,500 meters (1,640 yards) away. The HS-14 RAHD™ has a peak acoustic output of 148 dB, ensuring that powerful deterrent tones and voice messages will be heard by intended subjects. These features of the HS-14 RAHD™ enhance security responders’ capability to warn subjects who are in unauthorized areas. For users who need an increase communication distance, a newly redesigned HS-18 RAHD™ system is also available. The HS-18 RAHD™ has a communication distance of 2,000 meters (2,187 yards) and a peak acoustic output of 156 dB.
