COLUMBIA CITY, Indiana – Ultra Electronics USSI today announces that it has been awarded a follow-on defense contract for (43) MA-1 speakers and (55) direct-current amplifiers for the US Army. This order adds to the existing installed base within the United States military and foreign military channels. To date, over 1,100 MA-1 speakers and amplifiers have been sold and fielded in both commercial life safety and military marketplaces.
The MA-1 is a 1,600 watt omni-directional speaker that is capable of emitting clear and intelligible voice, and piercing alert tones within a 1.5 mile radius. Weighing only 48 pounds, it is simple and easy to install and allows for rapid deployment in any situation. The MA-1 is available in multiple configurations, including a portable and remote operated HyperSpike® Command and Control package, as well as static mounted configurations for integration into permanent installations.
