COLUMBIA CITY, Indiana (August 25, 2015) – Ultra Electronics, USSI announces today that it has received a substantial order from a large automotive manufacturer for Medium Power Speaker Arrays (MPSAs). Ultra Electronics USSI’s MA-Micro speakers were chosen due to their advanced features including acoustic output, voice clarity, light weight design, easy installation and cost savings.
The leading automotive manufacturer will utilize the HyperSpike MA-Micro speakers to project verbal emergency messages and alert tones throughout their manufacturing facility. The MA-Micro, having both indoor and outdoor capability, has a 360 degree peak acoustic output of 118 dB. The MA-Micro supersedes others in its class with superior voice clarity achieving a Speech Transmission Index (STI) of .91 out of 1.0. With a total weight of only 20 pounds, the MA-Micro speaker’s light weight and powerful design reduces costly installation expenses. Because of their power, significantly fewer number of MA-Micro speakers are needed for a facility compared to conventional horns.
“We have seen a large demand for wide area indoor mass notification within advanced manufacturing environments. Customers are seeking our product because the MA-Micro meets the demands of having a voice intelligible speaker that outperforms its competitors in fire and life safety operations.”
said James Martzall HyperSpike’s Sales Application Manager.
The MA-Micro can be heard approximately 0.25 miles (400 meters) away in all directions if mounted twenty-five feet (7.5 meters) above the ground. With its indoor and outdoor applications, the MA-Micro is ideal for manufacturing facilities with high ambient noise environments.
