Ultra Electronics – USSI receives large order for the UL 1480 TCPA-Omni Speaker

27 May 2016

COLUMBIA CITY, IN (May 27, 2016) – Ultra Electronics USSI today announces that it has recently been awarded multiple contracts to exceed 100 units for the UL 1480 TCPA-Omni product. The UL listed TCPA-Omni speaker is available for purchase through multiple channels including fire and life safety OEMs, emergency communication system OEMs, and fire-security integration partners. Ultra Electronics USSI’s UL listed TCPA-Omni produces clear and intelligible omni-directional sound and can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications. Because of its acoustic power and clarity, the UL listed TCPA-Omni thrives in environments where traditional low wattage cluster speaker horns struggle to perform; revolutionizing the fire and life safety market.

The UL listed TCPA-Omni can cover large industrial and commercial facilities with a small quantity of units, replacing legacy utilized solutions that call for several hundred low wattage speaker horns.  Because of the reduced number of speakers, the customer will see significant savings in required backup power, installation labor, installation materials, and long term maintenance costs. In addition, speaker solutions with substantially fewer units will yield a more efficient, less invasive installation while significantly increasing the overall quality of sound.

“Ultra Electronics USSI is happy to fill a critical acoustic gap within the industrial, high-background noise environment with our UL 1480 listed TCPA-Omni. We have designed a revolutionary sound quality architecture for multiple applications across the industrial and commercial marketplace.”

said Patrick Allison, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

The TCPA-Omni can be powered directly from a fire alarm control panel, giving the customer a fully UL listed solution. The unit has three power taps (50W, 100W, and 200W) which are configured during installation. The UL listed TCPA-Omni has an impressive acoustic density; weighing only 19 pounds with a maximum output of 129 dB at one meter within a radius of 360 degrees. The unit is corrosion resistant, allowing it to withstand the industry’s harshest environmental conditions. The housing is injection molded in color and UV stable to prevent unsightly surface damage as well as maintain a quality appearance over time.
